The Hollenbach Family: Fun in the Fall

We had quite a busy fall so far. We took a fun long weekend getaway for just Shawn and I to Chicago in the end of September. I had never been before and we were lucky to hit perfect weather in the Windy City. We did some of the fun touristy things like eat deep dish pizza, shop on Michigan Avenue, go to a Cubs game and took a boat tour on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. It was so much fun and what a great city! Granted, it was great to be there in 70 degree weather and not too humid. Here are a few pics from our trip.

We have gone to some fun outdoor activities at home now that the weather has been great. We checked out the Monarch Butterfly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens, went to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, the Phoenix Zoo and took some fun trips to the park by our house. Camdyn loves to be outside and cannot get enough of the slides at the parks. She is quite the daredevil and has been pushing older kids out of her way to go down the bigger kids slides. She loved the train and the carousel too at the train park. She has no fear at all! She is saying so many more words these days and can ask for cottage cheese or meatballs by name for dinner. She also has now learned how to open the doors in the house, so much for keeping things organized....She is also still climbing on all the furniture and can even get up on the bar stools- look out! She has been in a copying mommy and daddy phase, including cleaning, such as sweeping and mopping and loves to copy mommy putting on make up in the mornings. She is very independent and like to help wash and shampoo her hair on her own. She is now using a fork and spoon quite well on her own and is growing up quite fast.
